| Jumpsuits Jump In |
Author : Miko Laube |
Kimmystictic.clo at Miami Fashion Week Call it a jumpsuit, jumper or romper: this head-to-toe fashion ensemble is fun, fresh and full of flavor. Long sleeve, trouser versions are a cure for the common pantsuit. In casual fabrics like knit or denim, the one-piece is a fuss-free choice for nights and weekends. Sleeveless, strapless and short pants adaptations are the perfect way to spring into warmer weather. Given the look of loose coveralls, tailored into bustier shapes, and cinched with wide belts and bright scarves, designers have offered up pieces styled by influences from the exec to the mechanic, from the butch to the beach. So jump in!

Knit jumpsuits in conservative colors aren’t just comfortable but with figure hugging fabric and seductive detailing, they can also be sexy. Plunging necklines and marked cinched waists on jumpsuits byLacoste and DKNY highlight womanly shapes. Sabrina Barnett’s slinky jumpsuits are accentuated with drawstrings and lace up backs . |

As temperatures rise jumpsuits become jumpers or rompers, as hemlines rise to the occasion as shorts, perfect for fun in the sun. White and denim are favored color choices for the shorter jumper. Popular with beachgoers in cities like Miami, paired with bikini tops , great shades and a simple sandal, this look is made for the shade. |

| On jumpers we see tops with the same popular shapes as summer dresses, including the halter and strapless neckline. Versions with flair include ruffles and bows, come in tropical prints or involve simply adding bright, scarves for color and thick waist ties to give looser versions more shape. Some designers like Cinthia Avelino have adapted the jumpsuit to suit the theme of their collections: in this case a playing card to fit her ‘Chic in Wonderland’ inspired clothes. Apply details with caution and most importantly a level of personal comfort. |
With no one way to wear this one-piece all roads lead to a personal interpretation of the trend. With the ability to hide figure flaws nicely and create a long, lean silhouette this fashion piece seems to have endless advantages. My only concern would be how to use the bathroom.
